Australian team for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Australian national cricket team is the team which comes in mind when we talk about ICC Cricket World Cup as they are the current champions of the title. The Australian team has defeated India and Pakistan and the last international series they played and their performance will boost up with the Steve Smith and David Warner joining the team after the 1-year ban.


The former Australian cricketer and 2-time World Cup-winning captain Ricky Ponting is named as the assistant coach of the Australian National Cricket Team for the World Cup 2019 for focusing primarily on ODI batting.


Ponting said after his appointment quoted by Cricbuzz:

“I’m really excited to be joining the coaching group for this year’s World Cup,” “I’ve enjoyed my previous short-term roles with the ODI and T20 teams but World Cups take on a whole different meaning for me.


Australian National Cricket Team is all set to play ICC World Cup 2019 with 7 Batsman, 2 Allrounder, 6 Bowlers. Here is the Team Australia’s 15-man squad for the CWC:


Aaron Finch (C), Jason Behrendorff, Alex Carey (wk), Nathan Coulter-Nile, Pat Cummins, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, David Warner, Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson.


Jhye Richardson who was injured in the UAE in March is still continuing to recover from shoulder dislocation has been withdrawn from Australia’s squad for the World Cup and Kane Richardson is named as his replacement.


Team Australia will play their first match of ICC Cricket World Cup against the Afghanistan team on Jun 01, Sat at the County Ground, Bristol.

On the Day 3 of IND vs AUS second test of the four-match Test series at Perth, India’s Skipper Virat Kohli set another record in Test cricket. He became the second fastest player to score 25 Test centuries after Sir Donald Bradman who achieved the milestone in just 68 innings.
